Ok... here goes. I'll call this "Day 1", even though I've been experimenting with different routines and possible "diets" for about a month. Today, though, I officially committed to the 365 days. So, here I go... the journey begins.
I've stuck to my calorie goals today. So hard, as I'm so hungry. Hoping that I can teach my stomach that it has enough so it can stop yelling at me now.
I find that eating out is easier. Anyone else feel that? The nutrition info is posted right there and it is all pre-packaged for you. Taco Bell- 2 Chicken Soft Tacos- 380 calories. Done. Easy.
BUT at home, it is a LOT of work! Measuring every ounce and teaspoon of anything you put in your dish... UGH! Yes, I can control it down to the nth degree, but that is a headache.
So here is my challenge... What do you throw together that is easy, low-calorie and yummy? I'm looking for REAL food, too, not magazine food that you can only find in specialty markets if you want to pay a ton.

Yay for you! I know it's so much work. I lost 40 lbs. when we were living with the DeLongs, Mike and I used caloriecount.about.com. Since having Maggie I've gained about 20 lbs. back, but I'd settle for losing just 10 of that at this point! As far as measuring out every little thing, after time I noticed I had learned how much half a cup of cereal, or whatever, looked like and could eyeball it. I learned the calories of most basic foods and it became easier to naturally estimate portions and calories. It gets less tedious and you do get less hungry once your stomach shrinks a little. I tried to make sure at my hungriest time, the afternoon, I had a filling snack like almonds or yogurt or apple and peanut butter, instead of empty carbs. Good luck!
